Operating on a proprietary capacitive electrode system that creates an oxidizing cold plasma inside a treatment tunnel at atmospheric pressure, a surface-treatment system can be used to improve adhesion on blow-molded or injection-molded parts made from a wide range of thermoplastics. Unlike flame treaters, the Lectro-Treat process adds only nominal heat and will not induce part warpage, shrinkage, or surface crazing. Specific equipment configurations are available for oriented, nonoriented, and hollow or rotationally molded components. Lectro Engineering Co., St. Louis, MO.
